About Me

Vencent was born in Milton, Florida and raised in Maryland. He obeyed the Gospel in 1985 at Central Church of Christ in Baltimore, Maryland.  He graduated from public school in 1982, attended the University of Maryland and began a military career in May of 1983.  Vence completed courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and has advanced degrees in criminal justice and emergency management.

In the latter years of the 1980’s, while stationed at Barksdale AFB, Vencent and his family attended the Russell Road congregation. He was a deacon and the youth minister before transferring to Misawa AFB, Japan in 2000. While stationed there for four years he served as the minister to the congregation that met on the airbase. He also worked with local missionaries and organized outreach events to the Japanese community.

When Vencent and his family returned to the states in 2004, he accepted the role as minister of the congregation that met in Mountain Home, Idaho. After retiring from the United States Air Force in 2007, Vence began a civilian career as the Medical Emergency Manager for the Medical Readiness Flight 366 Medical Group at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. He had oversight of the hospital’s Emergency Management Program, CBRNE Program, and served as the local Emergency Management Liaison. Vence was blessed to serve as minister of the Mountain Home congregation for sixteen years.

Vence and his wife Karen are thrilled to return to Shreveport, Louisiana which is where they arrived as newlyweds in 1987.  They have been married for 36 years and have an adult son and daughter.  Travis and his wife Vega have blessed them with two granddaughters and one grandson.  Tracey and her husband Richie blessed them with their fourth grandchild, a girl, and they all call them Kakee and Papa.
