The Bible
God’s Word is our authority.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God and provides the truth we need for faith, worship, and Christian living.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 · 2 Peter 1:20–21
What we believe
Rooted in Scripture.
Centered on Christ.
At Russell Road Church of Christ, we seek to follow Jesus faithfully, honor the authority of Scripture, and live out the gospel together as a church family.
Our foundation
We want our faith and practice to come from God’s Word.
Rather than building our faith around human traditions, we strive to learn from the Bible, follow the teaching of Jesus Christ, and live as His people in everyday life.
We do not expect visitors to have every answer. Questions are welcome, and we are always glad to sit down and study the Scriptures together.
God
One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the one true God revealed in Scripture as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior.
We believe Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Salvation is found in Him.
John 3:16 · 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 · Acts 4:12
Salvation
We are saved by God’s grace through obedient faith.
We believe the gospel calls us to hear God’s Word, believe in Jesus, repent of sin, confess faith in Christ, and be baptized by immersion for the forgiveness of sins and new life in Him.
Ephesians 2:8–10 · Romans 10:9–17 · Acts 2:38 · Romans 6:3–4
The Church
Christ is the head of His church.
We believe the church belongs to Jesus Christ. As His people, we are called to worship together, grow in truth, care for one another, and share the gospel.
Ephesians 1:22–23 · Acts 2:42–47
Worship
We worship God in spirit and truth.
Our worship includes prayer, singing, preaching and teaching from Scripture, giving, and the Lord’s Supper. We gather on the first day of the week to remember Christ and encourage one another.
John 4:23–24 · Acts 20:7 · Colossians 3:16 · 1 Corinthians 16:1–2
Christian Living
Faith should shape the way we live.
We believe Christians are called to grow in holiness, love one another, serve others, forgive, pray, and reflect the character of Christ in daily life.
Romans 12:1–2 · Galatians 5:22–23 · Colossians 3:12–17
Eternity
We live with hope in the resurrection.
We believe Jesus will return, the dead will be raised, and every person will stand before God. Our hope is eternal life with Him through Jesus Christ.
John 5:28–29 · 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 · Revelation 21:1–4
